As the Kosovo Albanians returned to Kosovo after being expelled to neighbouring countries, many took revenge by burning Serb houses to the ground, expelling and killing any Serbs that had stayed behind when Serb security forces withdrew from Kosovo.

1991 - Vukovar, Croatia - The dead lay outside the already full morgue in the eastern city of Vukovar. JNA and Serb militias all but surrounded the city, bombing it back to the stone age until finally the city fell, all non-Serbs where then expelled from the region.
